Teresa Barnea is the Leadership Group's Associate Director of Preschool Education. The Associate Director of Preschool Education conducts outreach to the business community in Silicon Valley regarding preschool education policy and assists with the development and integration of the Leadership Group’s Pre-K and K-12 policy agenda. She is interested in the interplay of education and economics at the state level, and resource use.

Prior to joining the Leadership Group, Teresa was an Assistant Planner for a Civil Engineering Consulting firm. Her focus centered on water policy and water use in California, and the development of projects based on those policies. Prior to that, Teresa worked as a research assistant analyzing the effectiveness of entitlements and vouchers in public schools.

Teresa received her BA from UC Santa Barbara in Political Science with International Relations in 2003, where she studied abroad in France and Spain, and received her Masters degree from The College of William and Mary’s Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy in 2006.

She is originally from Southern California, and now lives in Cupertino with her husband, Jon.
