Phyllis received her bachelor of arts degree in literature from Fresno Pacific College in Fresno, California. Her background includes extensive non-profit experience, having worked in Washington, DC and Neuwied, Germany for Mennonite Central Committee, a relief, service and peace organization of North American Mennonite and Brethren in Christ Churches, and in the Metropolitan Office of the YMCA of Santa Clara Valley before joining the staff of SVLG. Currently, she serves on the Steering Committee of the International Gift Faire, affiliated with Ten Thousand Villages, an alternative trade organization which provides a market for artisans in developing countries, conducting an annual two-day sale each fall. Her interests include quilting, reading, the Simpsons, and she is a fanatic about public transportation. She resides in infill housing in downtown San Jose with her two tenacious cats, Monty and Maggie. |
