Yost will work with the Leadership Group staff and member companies to oversee communications strategy, media relations, news announcements, community forums, the annual Silicon Valley Projections report, the annual CEO Survey, speaking appearances for executives and staff, and the organization’s Web site.

In more than two decades with the San Jose Mercury News, Yost wrote editorials and columns for the editorial pages, principally on state and local government, and the environment. His political column from the state Capitol appeared on the opinion pages for five years. In 2006, he led the Mercury News coverage of the election for mayor of San Jose. He lives in San Jose with his wife, Susan.
