This popular annual Thanksgiving Day event, founded in 2005 by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, had its most successful year to date, attracting 6,160 participants and more than 475 volunteers to downtown San Jose's Confluence Meadow Park.

Thanks to the record turnout, race organizers hope to donate more than $225,000 to the three local charity beneficiaries: Second Harvest Food Bank, the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County, and the Santa Clara Family Health Foundation's Children's Health Initiative.

In the first year of the new VMware "Can Do" Community Challenge, race participants donated 6,446 pounds of canned goods and other non-perishable food to the Second Harvest Food Bank at the event. Each ten pounds of food feeds one person for a week. Our thanks to VMware and everyone who helped make this possible!
