Where do I pick up my race packet?
If you registered on or before November 15 you will receive your bib number in the mail.

If you registered after November 15 you can pick up your bib number and T-SHIRT at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
224 Airport Parkway, San Jose , CA 95110
November 20 or 21 from 8am-6pm

You may also pick up your packet on race day (November 22) from 7:30am to 8:45am at the registration booth.

What is the ChampionChip (timing device) and how does it work?
The ChampionChip is the latest in race timing technology. The ChampionChip is a miniature transponder in a specially designed plastic housing that is to be worn on the runner’s shoe.

There are no batteries in the ChampionChip. The transponder in the Chip is passive until moved into a magnetic field, generated by a send antenna in the race mats. Once a runner crosses a race mat, the chip gets energized and sends out its unique ID-number. This number and corresponding time are stored in the “Yellow Box” (device located at the side of the road and containing electronics and batteries) and transferred to a timing computer for further processing.

The reading distance of the ChampionChip System is very limited. The antennas are embedded in the red mats on the road. Therefore the chips should be located as close to the mats as possible on the body of the participant.

The chip should preferably be attached to the shoelace or attached to the ankle with a strap. Loop a single lace through the square holes of the ChampionChip and pull it tightly to the shoe. When using a strap, attach the ankle strap with the chip around your ankle. Make sure you do not attach it too firmly because your ankles will swell up during the event.

When you own a personal chip you can leave it attached to your running shoes. This way, you make sure you will not forget to take your chip to an event.

You will be provided a zip tie for the Turkey Trot race so that you can attach the chip to your shoe lace and then it can quickly be cut off and returned when the race is over without any damage to your shoe. Do not tie the chip into the lace; when this comes loose, the chip may easily be lost.

Participants MUST return their Championchip. They are not souvenirs and cost the race money when they cannot be returned (reducing our donations to charity) .

How do I get my ChampionChip?
Please pick up your chip on race day at the chip booth located next to the registration booth.

Can Spectators watch the race and finish?
Yes the course is spectator friendly and the race starts and finishes in the same location. Spectators must stay off the course during the race and must stay back from the start/finish lines and chute areas.

Where do I park on race day?

Where are the restroom facilities?
Restroom facilities are located on both sides of St. John Street and also in the festival area near the tennis courts and the registration booth.

Where do I check to make sure I am registered for the race?
If you registered online, Active.com will send you an email confirmation. If you did not receive an email confirmation you are not registered for the race.

If you mailed in your registration post marked by November 17, 2006 you will receive your bib number in the mail before race day with race day instructions and parking information. If you mailed in your registration postmarked after November 17th, an email will be sent notifying you of race day instructions and parking information. However we encourage those who registered after Nov. 17th to come to our pre-registration days Nov. 20st & Nov. 21nd from 8am-6pm at SVLG to pick up their bib numbers.

I lost my bib #, can I still race?
Yes. Stop by our pre-registration office Nov 20 or 21 from 8am-6pm or problems/solutions booth on race day between 7:30am and 8:45am so we can issue you a new bib number. Please note we do not guarantee accurate timing of your race if this happens.

Is medical help available?
There will be an ambulance on site for medical emergencies as well as a medical tent for less serious emergencies located to the right of the registration booth. For serious emergencies, please find any volunteer wearing a red T-shirt to help call in an emergency response team.

Who can participate in the race?
Runners, walkers and baby strollers are welcomed. Please no bikes, roller blades, scooters, skateboards or pets will be permitted on the course.

Can I listen to headphones while participating?
