Volunteers are needed! Start the holidays by helping others at the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Volunteer times are from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Be on site at 6:15am to greet all volunteers, sign them in - have them sign a waiver form if this has not already been taken care of before hand, give t-shirt, etc. coordinate volunteer assignment.

| Breakfast Team |
Set-up donated coffee, donuts or muffins, fruit and beverages for volunteers
|
| Day of Registration Team |
Sign up participants, assign bib number, have participants sign the race waiver form, individuals will also be stationed along the waiting line to help people fill out forms and answer questions
|
| Pre-registration |
Distribute bibs and chips to pre-registered participants.
|
| Aid & Water Station Team |
Give out water, GU or GEL and electrolyte drink @ miles 0.5 for elite/championship 1 mile loop, 1.5 for 5K, and at miles 1.5, 2.5 and 4.5 for the 10K route during the course of the race. cheer on runners along the course, clean up station after race is completed

| Can Do Food Drive |
Collect cans for the food drive and make sure they get stacked and loaded in the van to be taken to the SHFB

| Lost & Found, Beneficiary and Information Booth |
Provide overall race event info and info on charities, serve as main compound for event
|
| Floaters |
Give breaks to other volunteers in their functional areas, help trouble shoot be on hand to deploy to functional areas that may become impacted at critical points in the day
|
| Sweats Check Team |
Keep clothing for general population of runners (VIPs will have their own area for clothing check in)
|
| Safety Tent |
Oversee safety of event, certified EMTs in medical area and at finish line, oversee standby ambulance and help staff the emergency medical tent
|
| Festival Area Team |
Keep the areas clear for runners, both start and finish line and work in the festival area. Walk the general festival area to, provide directions to participants, make sure that direction signage stays up and where people can easily see it, keep up with clean up, identify needs/problems, help give direction to vendors, provide overlap for crowd control and safety

| Course Monitor |
Serve as safety monitor & route assistance for course and additional support to the SJPD, and act as cheerleaders for race participants
|
| VIP Tent Crew |
Greet VIPs, provide secured area for their belongings, stock food and beverages, and provide barrier monitoring to keep area secure
|
| Water Station at Start/Finish Line |
Provide drinks at the start and end of the race for runners
|
| Finish Line Team |
Assist with timing and collect all chips after the race
|
| T-Shirt & Goodie Bag Distribution |
Distribute T-shirts and goodie bags.
|
| Split Timers |
Give out times at all mile markers for both courses
|
Lead Biker Team |
Direct lead runners in the correct direction of the course
|
Elite Runner Check-In
|
Distribute bibs and chips to Elite Runners.
|
| Refreshment Team |
Set-up in festival area - Food and Beverage (from Safeway) set up and distribution before and after the event, provide drinks, food, fruit – Carb Load after the event

| Kid's Fun Run |
Help distribute medals, T-shirts and goodie bags to every child who participates
|
| Announcement Stage / Awards Table |
Help with staff the announcement stage and with the distribution of awards and medals to race winners after the races
|
| Elite Athlete Team |
Greet runners at the end of the race
|
